St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church
On Sunday mornings, participants meet to study and discuss various Biblical topics, depending on the interest of those attending. In past months the topics have ranged from the Small Catechism, specific books of the Bible, how God's Word addresses current news events, and so forth. The group is always looking for new participants, and new topics for consideration. This study is usually led by one of the church elders, since Pastor Zuch is busy leading services at Zion Lutheran in Warren at that time.
The group that meets Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. is currently going through the book of Galatians. Discussions involve matters like salvation by faith versus works, law and gospel, and how this epistle applies to the church today. This study is led by Pastor Zuch.
Pastor Zuch is also leading a study of Galatians on Friday afternoons at the High Rise senior residence east of the hospital. It is open to all residents of the building as well as anyone else from the congregation and surrounding community who would like to take part. The material matches that covered by the Monday evening Bible study.
