A BIBLE X-RAY OF THE HEART: (Picture of the Old Nature)

II. ALL THINGS BECOME NEW IN JESUS CHRIST

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." II Corinthians 5:17

Ephesians 4:24 - "And that ye put on the new man, which after God created in righteousness and holiness."

The Christian becomes a new person. He is changed from the inside out as Christ was transformed!

I Peter 1:23 - "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which lives and abides for ever."

". . . with the precious blood of Christ, as a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world . . ."

Galatians 2:20 - "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith (faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God) of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

Revelation 2:17 - "To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written."

Christians are given a new name.

Psalm 40:1-3 - "And he has put a new song in my mouth." Rev. 5:9

Christian will be given and will have a new song.

Romans 7:6 - "But now are we delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit and not in the oldness of the letter."

Christians have a new freedom.

Free from the works of the law.

Romans 6:22 - "But now being made free from sin and become servants of God . . ."

Free from sin: Free to serve dolos in Greek means servant-slave

"Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you." John 15:3

Romans 5:12-25 and Romans 4:8

"O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." Corinthians 15:55-57

Free from death

Note: Romans 8:38

"There is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh (old nature), but after the Spirit." Romans 8:1

No condemnation (new status).  God looks at you as one already in Heaven.  See Ephesians 2.

"There hath no temptation taken you . . . but with the temptation also make a way to escape, then ye may be able to beat it." I Corinthians 10:13

New Victory - Christians may lose some battles but that does not mean they will lose the war! There is no victory possible in the old nature!  Victory possible in Jesus as led by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

John 8:36 - "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."

Free to Serve, Saved to Serve

Jeremiah 2:14 - "Is Israel a servant? Is he a home born slave?"

A son of God, a child of God.  See Galatians 4.

Ephesians 2:10 - "Fore we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works . . ."

NEW BECAUSE JESUS MAKES ALL THINGS NEW
IT IS NOT OUR DOING

Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy." Ephesians 6:10-12

CHRISTINAS ARE GIVEN GIFTS OF HOLY SPIRIT

II Corinthians 7:9 - "And such were some of you, but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified but ye are justified by the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God."

Repentant Christians are given new life every day. (regeneration)

I Corinthians 6:11 - "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost . . ." Titus 3:5

A SECRET OF THE CHRISTIAN LIFE: You became a Christian in baptism or when you received Christ personally; you are presently becoming a Christian as you in Godly sorrow for sin (repentance) allow God's word to change you and your attitude toward Him; and when you finally and for all are finished with the old nature after death . . . or if Christ comes while you are living!
